An Oregon man riding a 1978 BMW motorcycle was seriously injured Wednesday when he collided with a deer on State Route 89 near the intersection with State Route 88 in Alpine County.
Portland resident Rudolf Jung, 32, was riding with a group in the southbound lane just after noon when the deer ran directly in front of him. He was forced onto the dirt shoulder where he overtuned and was ejected.
The two riders with Jung, along with several passerby, stopped to render aid until emergency personnel arrived. Jung was flown by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno with major injuries.
