Barton visitors required to show proof of vaccination or negative COVID-19 test upon entry

For the health and safety of staff and patients, and per California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulations, Barton Health has updated its visitation policy: any visitors to Barton Memorial Hospital, must show proof of full COVID vaccination OR a negative COVID test taken no more than 72 hours prior to their visit.
Any patient within the hospital who plans to have a visitor, should review this important update—we ask that you encourage your visitors to prepare for these changes and allow extra time to complete their verification process.
For fully vaccinated visitors:
COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or WHO Yellow Card) which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and date last dose administered); OR
a photo of a Vaccination Record Card as a separate document; OR
a photo of the client's Vaccination Record Card stored on a phone or electronic device, OR
documentation of COVID-19 vaccination from a health care provider.
For unvaccinated or partially vaccinated visitors:
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated visitors must show documentation of a negative SARS-CoV-2 test taken no more than 72 hours before each visit, and test results must be available at the time of entry to the hospital. Visitors are responsible for their test; Barton will not have tests available for visitation purposes.
Visitors may use any PCR or antigen test with Emergency Use Authorization by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration or operating per the Laboratory Developed Test requirements by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. In the South Lake Tahoe area, a free PCR test is available by scheduling an appointment online through LHI.CARE, a same-day test is available for purchase via Test Well, or CVS pharmacies sell rapid antigen tests (limited inventories).
Thank you for your patience and continued support of these important health and safety measures.
Sincerely,
Julie Clayton, RN, MSN, NEA-BC
