Red Flag Warning and Lake Wind Advisory for Lake Tahoe and Truckee Monday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Red Flag Warning for the Lake Tahoe and Truckee areas. The warning for gusty winds and low humidity is in effect until 8 p.m. Monday.

Expect winds from the southwest to west of 20 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 35 mph.

No barbecuing or firepits whatsoever are allowed and move anything combustible at least 5 feet away from your home.

The is also a Lake Wind Advisory until 9 p.m. Monday. Winds will be from the southwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and waves 1 to 3 feet. Small boats, kayaks and paddleboards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.
