South Lake Tahoe City Council meeting Tuesday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - After taking the month of July off, the South Lake Tahoe City Council will meet again on Tuesday, August 13 at 9 a.m. at Council Chambers at the Lake Tahoe Airport.

On the agenda:

In February 2024, the Council adopted a resolution for the formation of the South Tahoe Transit Joint Powers Authority (JPA) with El Dorado County for transit services on the South Shore. During the August 13 meeting, the Council will vote on the terms with the County on how the JPA will work. They will vote on it having two councilmembers and the County District V Supervisor, with non-voting ex officio members to include an appointee each from the South Shore Transit Management Association Board and Tahoe

Transportation District Board, with the City being the managing agency.

The possible approval of an agreement with RSG, Inc. for Real Estate and Economic Development Services at the Chateau, the area once known as "the hole." Work had stalled, but activity resumed this summer on the buildup of the front portion of the property. The back end was for sale but the offer was not accepted by the property owner so RSG, Inc., if hired, would be the consultant on the economic development of the area. The initial agreement also sought to include the Sunray Motel, but that property has been dropped since the City just delivered a 14-day Notice to Repair Violations to the property and is investigating the feasibility of pursuing a receivership petition.

Discussion of a naming rights agreement with the South Tahoe Parks Foundation for the new Multigenerational Recreation & Aquatics Center.
