South Lake Tahoe window cleaning company starts Community Giving Promise

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Fostering a community of neighbors recognizing neighbors is the key behind the South Lake Tahoe window cleaning business, The Kairos Company.

Started by Shannon Kuperus, Jr., and now operated together with his wife Lauren, the Kairos Company cleans windows, solar panels, and gutters, as well as snow removal.

Recognizing that many of their services are considered "luxuries" and for those in a higher income bracket than many South Lake Tahoe residents, Shannon and Lauren have started a Community Giving Promise. They promise to give away window cleaning services each year to a deserving person in the community. The couple needs the public's help in finding the next person to "bless."

"This is something we feel strongly about," said Lauren, a South Lake Tahoe native. "We care about community a lot."

Lauren saw how much the community supported her family with her dad Ron's stroke, and her mom Angela's health scare.

"We've been so blessed by this town," said Lauren.

Shannon said they would like residents to get out of a negative rut and look for ways to help their neighbors. He said the community should remember that "we care for one another." On the Kairos Company website, people can nominate their neighbors to receive the free services. People can visit https://www.thekairoscompany.online/ and go to the Community Giving Promise and submit the needed information.

Lauren and Shannon said it'd be great if other companies came together to do the same thing and they hope it catches on and the fostering of community spirit carries on.

"Brotherly love is contagious," said the couple.
