COVID-19 cases for Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County

Diamond Springs, El Dorado - 571 cases - +8 - The 14-day new case rate is 46 with 489 per 100,000 residents.
North County - 605 cases - +9 - The 14-day new case rate is 57 with 394 per 100,000 residents.
Greater Placerville - 2228 cases - +27 - The 14-day new case rate is 185 with 505 per 100,000 residents.
Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue - 2142 cases - +29 - The 14-day new case rate is 195 with 551 per 100,000 residents.
South County - 169 cases - +0 - The 14-day new case rate is 19 with 183 per 100,000 residents.
Lake Tahoe region - 3173 cases - +7 - The 14-day new case rate is 250 with 826 per 100,000 residents.

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - There have been 103 new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County since yesterday. The 14-day case rates and number of the population per 100,000 residents are continuing to climb closer to data seen at the height of the pandemic in Winter 2020. It is already higher than last summer. At no time during the winter were all areas of El Dorado County in the red, or high spread, category.
While COVID-19 once seemed to target older people, community members and visitors of all ages are now being infected, including children too young to receive the vaccine, according to Barton Health. Similar to national trends, the majority of hospitalizations continue to be among those who are not vaccinated.
Pollock Pines, Camino, Kyburz - 629 cases - +6 - The 14-day new case rate is 44 with 324 per 100,000 residents.

To date, 122 El Dorado County residents have died from COVID-19. There were no news deaths this weekend.
There are 27 (+0) hospitalized with 7 (+0) in the ICU. Of these patients, 21 are hospitalized at Marshall, 6 at Barton. Of the ICU patients, 2 are in Barton, 5 at Marshall in Placerville.
Barton Health wants to reassure the community they have room in their ICU and at times the actual numbers and State's figures don't match up due to timing. Currently the State's website says there are 4 available ICU beds in the county, 2 at Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, 2 at Marshall.
Barton Hospital is keeping all patients in negative pressure rooms in the ICU at this time, though only counting actual ICU patients in the figures above. They have more negative pressure ICU rooms should they be needed.
