South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge set 18th annual Kid’s Fishing Day

Event Date:
September 24, 2022 - 8:00am

The South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge is hosting the 18th annual Kid’s Fishing Day on Saturday, September 24, at Tahoe Paradise’s Lake Baron. The event is free for all children under the age of 16. Registration begins at 8 am at Lake Baron, near the main entrance. Hot dogs, chips, sodas, and water are provided free to all registered children. The event wraps up at 2 p.m.

Parking is free for the event.

For the event, the Moose Lodge will plant the lake with hundreds of pounds of catchable, one pound, and larger rainbow trout. Fishing poles, tackle, and bait will be provided, or kids can bring their own. This year, the Lodge is supporting Baron Lake’s “Catch and Release” program, encouraging each child to catch and release as many trout as they can, using barbless hooks, but keep only a limit of two.

Each registered child will receive a free raffle ticket for a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prize donated by El Dorado Savings Bank. Winners will be drawn at 12 p.m. Each child will also receive an additional raffle ticket to select a prize from a large selection of toys and games.

After 2 p.m., Lake Baron will re-open to the community for “Catch and Release” fishing only, following the Park’s fishing regulations.

Park's regulations: September 1 through June 30, Catch & Release only, Limit: Zero (barbless artificial lures or flies only/no bait)
July 1st - August 31st: 2 fish limit, family limit 4 fish
