Kudos: Bread & Broth Monday Meal hosted by Heavenly Mountain Resort

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - On August 14, Heavenly Mountain Resort once again sponsored a Bread & Broth (B&B) Monday Meal thanks to the generous Vail EpicPromise grant funds awarded to Bread & Broth.

“It’s always a pleasure for the Heavenly team to be able to give back to the community through our Monday Meal sponsorships,” said Stefan Watkins.

In addition to serving as Heavenly’s Adopt A Day (AAD) crew member on the 14th, Stefan is also a regular B&B volunteer on the second Monday of each month. So, he has a great deal of experience helping at the Monday dinner service.

Sharing the AAD sponsor crew duties with Stefan was Katie Ficeto. Katie is also a seasoned B&B AAD crew volunteer having helped at several of the Heavenly sponsorship meals over the past year. In addition, Katie is Heavenly’s interface with the B&B program and has been coordinating the Heavenly Adopt A Day crews since Bread & Broth resumed the Monday Meal service in June of 2022.

Bread & Broth appreciates the dedication that the Heavenly team has for supporting the Monday Meal. Their six sponsorships throughout the year mean that many of the Heavenly team members are returning AAD volunteers and are so helpful in their assisting at the meals. Katie was especially helpful. She dried all the utensils, glasses, serving trays, pots, pans, etc. used by the cooks and the eighty folks who enjoyed the dinner that evening. Kudos to you Katie and Heavenly Mountain Resort for supporting Bread & Broth’s efforts to help ease hunger.
