Deceased woman found along rocks on shore of South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The body of a woman in her early 50s was found on the rocks along the shore of Lake Tahoe on Thursday morning. At 11:25 a.m. on August 22, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) and South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue (SLTFR) responded to a call of an "unresponsive" person on the shoreline area across from the Fremont Avenue area. Upon arrival, first responders started lifesaving measures but they were unable to revive her and she was pronounced deceased.

The woman is a transient the SLTPD knew and detectives are working on an investigation into the cause of death, and to notify her next of kin.
