Some outdoor event cancelations around South Lake Tahoe Friday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, calif. - The current weather system that brought cooler temperatures and gusty winds to South Lake Tahoe has caused a few weekend events to be canceled or postponed.

The Forest Service announced the Pathways for Wildlife presentation at the Lake of the Sky Amphitheater at Taylor Creek on Friday night is postponed and will be rescheduled for an evening in September.

Due to high winds, Hike with a Ranger is canceled for Aug 23. Weather permitting, hikes normally depart from the top of the gondola on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and continue through Sep. 29, 2024, at Heavenly Mountain Resort. Check ahead if planning for Saturday's hike.

This story will be updated if there are any other changes to events.
