South Tahoe Babe Ruth Baseball 13U All-Stars thank community for support

South Tahoe Babe Ruth Baseball 13U All-Stars would like to thank the amazing community for supporting their trip to Bakersfield for the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament held during the week of July 22, 2024. Thanks to the donors’ generosity, all players and coaches were able to attend regardless of their family’s financial means.

Special thanks to the Moose Lodge, who donated proceeds from a special fundraising dinner; businesses such as UFP Industries, The Hangar, Tillson Law, and Olivo Accounting; as well as many individual donors, including the 60 who contributed to their GoFundMe fundraiser.

Facing an altered schedule due to extreme heat warnings and temperatures over 100 degrees, South Tahoe’s Nevada State Championship squad bested host Northwest Bakersfield 11-7 in a Monday night game only to have to return early the next morning to face the eventual tournament winner (and later World Series champion) Hawaii. South Tahoe battled hard keeping it close for several innings but eventually lost 2-12. Next up was Madera, a Central California champion, who was more used to the extreme heat. The teams were evenly matched, with South Tahoe trailing by one run going into the last inning, but after depleting its pitching staff, dropped a 6-13 loss.

Manager Albert Aquino, coaches Jaden Aquino, Chris Campion, Joel Gomez, and Mark Moran, and players Emilio Della Ripa, Seamus Donahue, Otto Eckholm, Bodie Erwin, Rowan Galli, Cayson Gomez, Donovan Gomez, Cooper Isip, Hudson James, Rowen Killingsworth, Haven Moran, Colin Rhodes, and Max Vadnais worked hard to represent South Tahoe well and are incredibly grateful for the town who gave them these lifetime memories.
