Warmer, drier weather pattern for Lake Tahoe but possible change for Labor Day

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The sneak peak of fall last week is heading out and waiting its turn on the calendar, for now. A drier and warmer weather pattern returns with temperatures climbing to near or a few degrees above normal. Signs are pointing to a more active weather pattern this Labor
Day Weekend has the potential for storms and increased breezes, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. If you have outdoor plans, keep a close eye on the forecast as we approach the weekend.

The weekly forecast for South Lake Tahoe from NWS Reno:

Monday - Patchy freezing fog before 9 am. Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.

Monday Night - Clear, with a low around 44. Calm wind.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 84. Light and variable wind becoming west at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low around 48. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light southwest in the evening.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 86.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 51.

Friday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.
