South Tahoe MTB/Douglas MTB races at North Tahoe Challenge

South Tahoe MTB/Douglas MTB is a mountain bike team consisting of student-athletes from Lake Tahoe Unified School District and Douglas County School District. They are part of the Nevada North League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA).

Many team members raced in the North Tahoe Challenge which was held on trails adjacent to North Tahoe High School. The course was a 4.6-mile lap with 450 feet of elevation gain per lap under dusty and loose trail conditions.

Varsity Boys rider Luke Amato completed 4 laps. JV1 Boys riders Logan Robertson (4th), Simon Stafford, and Jack Phillips raced 3 laps. JV1 Girls riders Hollace Britto (5th) and Josie Feeney raced 2 laps. Freshman Girls Mollie Van Kirk (2nd) and Cece Martone also raced 2 laps.

In the Middle School Girls category Ellery Blachman (1st), Olivia Cupaiuolo (2nd), and Eleana Di Vittorio (5th in L2) raced 1 full/1 modified lap. Hazel Erkkila rounded out the field with a 1 lap race. The Middle School Boys wave saw Beckett Henderson, Caleb Yakar, Jonah Erkkila, and Van Hackett (3rd in L2) race 1 full/1 modified lap. Wyatt Broman, Silas Forehand (1st), Wes Moyer-Pirie (3rd), Kainoa Kaufmann, Townes Caskey, Mavic Largent, and Jeremy Siedzinski all raced 1 lap.
