Shelter list for evacuees from Lake Tahoe due to Caldor Fire

Nevada emergency managers are working with CalFire to ensure correct and consistent information is being released from all cooperating entities concerning evacuations and shelters. On Monday evening, CalFire released incorrect evacuation shelter information.

Please note that Carson High School is not an evacuation shelter, as school is currently in session.

The Douglas County Community & Senior Center and Carson City Community Center are both at capacity, but the following Nevada evacuation shelters have also opened:

• Fuji Park (capacity 62) – 601 Clear Creek Rd. Carson City, NV 89701
• Reno Sparks Convention Center (capacity 454) – opened 9:00 p.m. Monday evening – 4590 South Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89502
• Dayton Rodeo Event Center (capacity 150 RVs for dry camping and a limited number of large animals) – 500 Schaad Ln, Dayton, NV 89403
• Lyon County Fair Grounds (capacity 200 RVs for dry camping and large animals) – 100 US Highway 95A East, Yerington, NV 89447

Other options for evacuees:

LifePoint Church in Minden has opened its parking lot for RVs. This is first come, first serve with no hookups. They have restrooms available but no showers on site. Register HERE and let them know how many will be in your party. Small animals are welcome. They are located at 1095 Stephanie Way in Minden. 775.267.0151.
