El Dorado County Elections holding Open House to celebrate move to Shingle Springs

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The El Dorado County Elections Department is moving into its new offices this week and will celebrate with an Open House on October 18 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

In Fall 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved a plan that moved several departments around to better utilize County spaces and provide a location for a homeless navigation center. As part of the movement of several departments, the Juvenile Court is moving into the old Registrar of Voters and Elections office to provide safer and more private spaces for youth.

Now the Registrar of Voters and Elections Department are moving to Shingle Springs at 3883 Ponderosa Road. The move starts September 6 and the new offices should be open by September 11.

The department says the new space has been designed around transparency and workflow with more space. Their hours will remain the same, Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A ballot dropbox will remain at their old location as well as a new one installed at the new one.

The Open House will be followed by a one-hour Town Hall meeting to discuss the 2024 election cycle and election integrity.
