Update: Dutch Fire at 48 acres, 50% contained; I-80 has one westbound lane open

WED. 9/14 UPDATE: The Dutch Vegetation Fire along I-80 is 48 acres and 50% contained. I-80 westbound traffic is reduced to one lane. All threats have been mitigated.

INCIDENT UPDATE: The #DutchFire near I-80 and Ridge Road in Dutch Flat is 30 acres and 30% contained. All evacuations have been lifted. Interstate 80 opened to one lane in both directions.

The westbound #2 lane is scheduled to be closed all night. The estimated time to have both lanes of eastbound I80 is 9:30 p.m. tonight.

The Dutch I-80 Fire broke out this afternoon on I-80 near Dutch Flat. It has already burned 20 acres and caused closure in both directions on I-80. SR-20 is at a standstill and alternate routes are recommended. Caltrans says to use SR-49 and SR-174 as there is no estimated time of reopening.

PG&E is reporting a power outage to over 1700 customers from Applegate to Colfax.
