Expect delays on SR28 project between Kings Beach and Tahoe City

NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Caltrans is advising motorists of a broadband installation project continuing along State Route 28 (SR-28) along the north shore of Lake Tahoe next week.
The broadband project is part of a larger statewide effort by the California Department of Technology to bring high-speed broadband into rural communities. The contractor for this project is Teichert Construction.
Utility work with one-way traffic control is scheduled along SR-28 at the following locations and times:
Sunday, September 15 from 5 p.m. until Friday, September 20 at noon between Park Lane and Gull Avenue in Brockway
Sunday, September 15 from 7 p.m. until Friday, September 20 at 7 a.m. at Grove Street in Tahoe City. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, September 15 from 7 p.m. until Friday, September 20 at 7 a.m. between the State Route 89 junction and Mackinaw Road in Tahoe City. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Sunday, September 15 from 8 p.m. until Tuesday, September 17 at 7 a.m. between the State Route 89 junction and the Tahoe State Park entrance in Tahoe City. No work is scheduled between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Sunday, September 15 from 8 p.m. until Monday, September 16 at 8 p.m. at Robert Avenue in Cedar Flat
Monday, September 16 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Onyx Street and Sahara Drive in Carnelian Bay
Monday, September 16 from 8 p.m. until Tuesday, September 17 at 8 p.m. between Lardin Way and Ridgewood Road in Cedar Flat
Tuesday, September 17 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Onyx Street and Agate Road in Carnelian Bay
Tuesday, September 17 from 8 p.m. until Friday, September 20 at 8 a.m. between the State Route 89 junction and the Tahoe State Park entrance in Tahoe City. No work is scheduled between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Tuesday, September 17 from 8 p.m. until Wednesday, September 18 at 8 p.m. between Terrace Drive and Ridgewood Road in Cedar Flat
Wednesday, September 18 from 8 p.m. until Thursday, September 19 at 8 p.m. between Ridgewood Road and Center Street in Carnelian Bay
Wednesday, September 18 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Sahara Drive and Granite Road in Carnelian Bay
Thursday, September 19 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Agate Road and Estates Drive
Thursday, September 19 from 8 p.m. until Friday, September 20 at noon between Center Street and Onyx Street in Carnelian Bay
Friday, September 20 from 4 a.m. to noon between the State Route 267 junction in Kings Beach and Estates Drive
Motorists could encounter total delays of up to one hour between Tahoe City and Kings Beach on SR-28 due to the various construction activities. Please allow for extra time to reach your destination, especially during school drop-off and pick-up times. All work on road construction projects will be suspended on weekends and holidays. Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment or material availability, or other unexpected events.
