A mixed week of weather for Lake Tahoe this week from upper elevation snow, rain, to snow and return to 70s

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Are you ready to hear the words "storm systems" or do you want to hang onto summer a little longer? Well, in the next ten days, both sides will have the forecast they want from rain and upper elevation snow to start the week ahead, moving back into the 70s to wrap the week up.

with a couple of colder storm systems in line to bring much cooler weather and good chances for wetting precipitation through Wednesday. The first storm drops into northern Calif. tonight and moves across the Great Basin Monday-Monday night while the second one drops into the region Tuesday night and Wednesday. Temperatures will be much below normal for Monday and Wednesday when rain chances are highest. Where bands set up, afternoon highs will struggle to reach 50 degrees in the Sierra and 60 degrees for lower elevation sites. Highs both days will be around 20-25 degrees below average (more like late October) with hard freezes returning to Sierra valleys Tuesday morning as we see a brief clearing in between storms.
