First week of Fall brings above average temperatures to South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The first week of Fall will seem more Summer-like with highs in the mid- to upper 70s for maybe the last time we see a whole week of those temperatures until Spring! There will be a dry/mild pattern this week with light winds through Tuesday with increased southwest winds likely Wednesday with isolated areas of fire weather concerns across northeast California and northwest Nevada. Temperatures will remain around 3-7 degrees above season averages this week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

Mild weather continues into the following week, with the 70s most likely carrying into the beginning of the week, then replaced by the 60s.

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 77. Calm wind, becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind, becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low of around 40. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 77.
