First week of Fall at Lake Tahoe: Windy, mild start with temperatures dropping by end of week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A low-pressure system lifts quickly northeast into the Pacific Northwest through Monday, and then a deep upper trough and attendant cold front will swing across northern Cal./Nev. This will create some gusty southwest winds, but most of the higher wind speeds will be north of I80, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

Expect near-average daytime temperatures and dry conditions through mid-week
with a cooling trend going into the latter half of next week. There is another fall-like change towards the end of next week as there is a possibility of increased shower chances, enhanced breezes, and colder temperatures dropping over the region inside slider-like.

Next weekend sees a slight chance of snow above the 7900 feet level.
