Mild week ahead for South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - An upper-level low continued to move north Sunday, allowing for high pressure to continue to build in early next week. Temperatures will top out at 5 to 10 degrees above average, with continued light winds and mostly dry conditions. Breezy afternoon winds are likely Tuesday and Wednesday. A ridge will then build in and stay overhead through next weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

The South Lake Tahoe forecast for the week from NWS Reno:

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 82. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 44. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 80. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 40.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 36.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 77.
