The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is looking for more volunteers in South Lake Tahoe

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) has made a huge impact with community outreach programs, events, and cat/kitten adoptions in the South Lake Tahoe area since opening up a space on Lake Tahoe Boulevard in 2019. HSTT is now looking for more volunteers to help even more pets and people.

Volunteer opportunities include:

Pet-Assisted Therapy: HSTT has several fully trained pet-assisted therapy (PAT) teams that visit daily at Barton Skilled Nursing and weekly at El Dorado County Library. HSTT is looking to expand its PAT programs and would love to include more certified teams.

Wellness Clinics: HSTT hosts wellness clinics throughout the year, offering free vaccines and microchips to community member pets. Volunteers play a critical role in keeping these clinics organized and running smoothly. HSTT I South Lake is also looking for registered veterinary technicians and veterinarians to help assist with our wellness clinics.

SLT Events: HSTT participates in several events throughout the year from the Celebrity Golf Tournament to running a stand at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. HSTT would love even more help to ensure the success of these events. The money raised helps fund HSTT community outreach programs, which help keep pets and people together.

Cat/Kitten Socialization: The South Lake Tahoe office has a cat and kitten adoption area and is always looking for volunteers who want to snuggle, cuddle, and help socialize the adoptable cats/kittens.

These volunteer opportunities are just some of the fun ways community members can give back and get involved in helping homeless pets near and far as well as helping keep pets and the people who love them together.
