Soroptimist International invites women in South Lake Tahoe to apply for the Live Your Dream Award

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe (SISLT) continues its quest to improve the lives of women and their families through education and training. Education is the great equalizer and has the power to transform our communities. Providing an award to give women the opportunity to develop desirable job skills and make a lasting impact on their families is a game changer.

The Live Your Dream Award was created to provide women with the means and access to further their education and as a result, the award helps cultivate self-reliant women who by bettering themselves become role models for future generations. Everyone wins when women are educated and more importantly, society manifests real-world change when women overcome tremendous obstacles.

This award does more than provide financial assistance for education, it allows women to tap into their potential and become the architects of their own lives. Education helps women to grow into agents of change, therefore, becoming heroes for their children and members in our communities. When women achieve their educational goals, a world of new opportunities opens up to them. The beauty of the Live Your Dream Award is that it inspires women to increase their self-worth, improve their capabilities with marketable skills, earn a living, have a career, and build the life of their dreams. This award transforms lives and our communities.

SISLT encourages women in South Lake Tahoe to apply for the Live Your Dream Award.

The Live Your Dream Awards offers three levels of cash awards. The local club will award one woman $2,000. Eligible applicants can submit their applications until November 15. Ultimately, a Live Your Dream Awards finalist has the potential to receive up to $16,000 to help offset tuition costs, purchase books, get transportation, or find reliable childcare so she can worry less about how to pay her bills and focus on reaching her dreams.
