South Tahoe Boys Tennis win 3A Northern League title, head into regionals next week

With a score of 11-7, the South Tahoe High School boys' tennis team clinched the Class 3A Northern League Boys Tennis championship on Friday, October 14 in their final-round matchup against Truckee.

In their first round, the 8-0 Vikings beat North Valleys 14-4.

Next week, South Tahoe’s starters will compete in individual regionals in Reno and then the team and those individuals who qualify will compete in the State Tournament from Oct. 27-29 at the Reno Tennis Center.

The individual South Tahoe High athletes in the regionals on October 21 at the Plumas Tennis Center, Reno:

There were 28 athletes on the boys' team this year at South Tahoe high with 15 on varsity. The nine starters are Senior Christopher Haven, Senior Garrett Friederici, Senior Landon Paschal, Sophomore Seth Johnson, Junior Brennan Monroe, Freshman Ralston Pierce, Freshman Sebastian Guerrero, Junior Philip Roberts, and Sophomore Brodie Wallisch. Other varsity players include Sophomore Sean Molesworth, Freshman Marcus Haven, Sophomore Ryder Tannaci, Junior Jay Feeney, Sophomore Dylan Lucas, and Sophomore Scott Yamaoka.

The 2022 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Class 3A State boys team and individual tennis championship tournaments will be contested Oct. 27-29 at Plumas Tennis Center in Reno. South Tahoe Boys are the Number 1 seed from the north and will play the #2 seed from the south, Moapa Valley at 2:45 p.m. Truckee is the Number 2 seed from the north and they'll hit the courts against the #1 seed from the south, The Meadows at 12:30 p.m. The winners go to the next rounds on Friday.
