Tahoe's Underworld topic of next Lake Tahoe Historical Society Fireside Chat

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Join the Lake Tahoe Historial Society for their October Fireside Chat at the historic Camp Richardson Hotel on Tuesday, October 25 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Lake Tahoe educator and historian Dr. David Borges will speak on the topic of some of the mobsters and the ne'er-do-wells who plied their trade on Tahoe. Lake Tahoe's connection to the mafia, from real-life mobsters to Hollywood movie personalities, has its ties to the early days of gambling.

Dr. Borges will share stories of those with local ties: Baby Face Nelson, John Birges, the 1980 Harveys Tahoe bomber, and Richard Lewis "Dick" Chartrand.

This is a free event and refreshments will be served (donations accepted).

The Camp Richardson Hotel is located at 1900 Jamison Beach Road, South Lake Tahoe.
