Letter: David Jinkens has integrity and is a man of his word

David Jinkens is a person of his word and has very high integrity, two characteristics that have always been valued by me. He would be a valuable asset to the community and the city council as a council member.

I have known David since he was the city manager for the City of South Lake Tahoe. I was a South Lake Tahoe fire captain and the lead negotiator for the city firefighters' labor union. I respected working with David. When he gave his word, he always followed through on what he agreed to. He was always willing to listen and would try to understand the issue or he would research the issue until he had a good understanding. I didn't always agree with him, but he always was fair. He is already familiar with the City of South Lake Tahoe operations and would adapt seamlessly as a council member.

I recently had an issue with an on-the-job injury that I sustained while working as a firefighter for the City of South Lake Tahoe. This issue was preventing me from functioning and enjoying my retirement years due to severe, debilitating pain. David worked diligently on his own time until he was able to help me resolve the issue.
