South Tahoe High Boys Tennis Team dominates in regionals, heads to State Tournament

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe High School (STHS) Boys Tennis Team ended the season with an 8-0 record, landing them as the number one seed from the north in this week's 2024 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) 3A State Tournament.

STHS was the NIAA 3A Northern League Boys Tennis champions, ending the Northern Tournament on October 4 by defeating Truckee 12-6. In doubles action, Brodie Wallisch and Ralston Pierce from STHS took top honors after defeating teammates Emiliano Guerrero and Simon Stafford, who landed in second. Sebastian Guerrero took second in the north in singles, and teammate Ryder Tannaci landed in third.

For the state tournament, the STHS team playoffs start on Thursday, October 24 at 10:15 a.m. at Tahoe Donner Tennis Club against Pahrump Valley. The winner of that matchup goes against the winner of the Truckee vs. Boulder City match on Friday, October 25.

The singles tournament starts on Friday, October 25 at 2:30 p.m. at Tahoe Donner Tennis Club. From STHS, #3 from the north: Ryder Tannaci (South Tahoe) meets #2 from the south, Ryan Roxarzade (Adelson) and #2 from the north, Sebastian Guerrero (South Tahoe) goes up against #3 from the south,- Garrett Hadley (Moapa Valley). The championship is on October 26 at 11:30 a.m.

For the doubles tournament, the play also gets underway on October 25 at 2:30 p.m. The top seeds from the north are Brodie Wallisch and Ralston Pierce (South Tahoe). They are going against #4 from the south, Lucas Johnson/Jace Eichner (Pahrump Valley). The #2 team from the north, Emiliano Guerrero and Simon Stafford (South Tahoe) play the #3 team from the south, Alex Leavitt/Marcus Leavitt (Moapa Valley). The doubles final is also on October 26 at 11:30 a.m.
