SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Ancient Forest Society (AFS) invites the South Lake Tahoe community to join them for a special fundraising event on November 10, 2024, at Valhalla’s Grand Hall starting at 3 p.m. This gathering aims to honor their dedicated volunteers and celebrate the significant accomplishments made in the field this season, all while raising vital funds to further our mission of studying and protecting old trees and ancient forests.
It will be an evening of music, camaraderie, and inspiration featuring the talented Simon Kurth of Mescalito with Lindsey Cheek and friends. Their soulful tunes will provide the perfect backdrop as the group and volunteers connect with the community, raffle off gifts, and share their passion for preserving the majestic ancient forests that enrich our environment and heritage.
Throughout the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from the team about the progress made this year, including the monumental climb of the General Sherman tree, the largest tree in the world. The Ancient Forest Society hopes to share the initiatives, ongoing projects, and future programs dedicated to the conservation of our oldest trees. We all need trees to survive on this planet.
Together, everyone can make a difference in protecting these irreplaceable natural treasures.
“We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our volunteers and supporters,” said the Executive Director of the organization. Anthony Ambrose.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate hard work, introduce themselves to the community, and further their programming in the basin by
protecting these forests for future generations.
All proceeds from the event will directly support the Ancient Forest Society’s ongoing efforts in conservation, research, and education. We encourage everyone to join us for an unforgettable evening that promises to be both enlightening and entertaining.
