Douglas County to honor veterans at special appreciation event

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - A Veterans Day Appreciation event will be held on November 10 at the Douglas County Community and Senior Center. Originally scheduled for the CVIC Hall, it has been moved to the center's Grandview Dining Room, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The County is partnering with Suicide Prevention Network to honor the area's Veterans during this event, which will include entertainment, the presentation of branches, guest speakers, raffle prizes, resource information, and more.
Lunch will be served following the program, which will include fried chicken, mashed potatoes, salad, and dessert. This Appreciation event is open to Veterans of all ages as well as their families. Lunch is free for Veterans and for other guests, there is a suggested donation of $3 for those 60 years and older and $7 for anyone under 60.
The Douglas County Community & Senior Center is located at 1329 Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville.
