Barton Health welcomes new family medicine physician to expanding primary care practice

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Barton Health has welcomed Dr. S. Bret Chipman, a board-certified family medicine physician, to its network of primary care providers.

Dr. Chipman will see adult and pediatric patients at Barton Primary Care at 1108 Fourth Street, South Lake Tahoe, Calif.

“Barton is committed to providing accessible, quality care to the region,” said Barton Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Matthew Wonnacott. “Regular visits to a primary care provider are important to identify and manage health risks before they affect your life, and we are pleased to welcome

Dr. Chipman to expand health management opportunities to the Lake Tahoe community.”

Dr. Chipman joins Barton Health from Duke University Primary Care in Knightdale, North Carolina, where he worked as an outpatient clinician. He was voted 2021 Physician of the Year by fellow physicians and staff. Prior to his tenure at Duke Health, he owned a private general medical practice in Payson, Utah for 12 years. He also served as a U.S. Air Force Flight Surgeon at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. He has four children with whom he loves skiing, biking, hiking, and rafting.

“I enjoy building a relationship with patients and developing treatment plans optimized to support their health journey,” said Dr. Chipman. “I look forward to connecting with this community through Barton Primary Care, and becoming an integral part of the ongoing health of this vibrant population.”
