South Lake Tahoe City Council and El Dorado County Supervisors meet Tuesday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe City Council and El Dorado County Board of Supervisors are both holding 9 a.m. meetings on Tuesday, November 5.

For City Council, its agenda includes:

Proclamation Recognizing November 2024 as "Youth Homeless Outreach Prevention Education" (HOPE) Month

A radon presentation

The discussion and possible approval of an Energy Facilities Financing Contract to fund the already approved energy upgrades at City facilities, in an amount not to exceed $11,414,389.

Heavenly Area Annexation - Ordinance Pre-zoning 30 Parcels, General Plan Amendment, and Resolution Initiating Annexation Proceedings. The annexation is being pursued for more efficient delivery of public services.

Property Tax Revenue Agreement with El Dorado County for Cleanup Annexation of 80 parcels totaling 79 acres. It was originally to be 90 acres totaling 411.8 acres. The Tahoe Valley Campground has been pulled from the original plan and further discussions will be planned.

In the consent portion of the agenda, the Supervisors will vote on the South Tahoe Greenway - Upper Truckee River Bridge at Johnson Meadow Project, Capital Improvement Program. It is a continuation of the Dennis T. Machida Greenway and is a 1.2-mile Class 1 shared-use path from Sierra Boulevard over the Upper Truckee River.

Also on consent is the final passage (Second Reading) of Ordinance 5211
adopting a new Chapter 8.68 of Title 8 of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code to regulate tobacco retailers for all purposes within the
unincorporated areas of the County of El Dorado. No tobacco retailers shall be within 1500 feet of another tobacco retailer or a "sensitive use." This will include e-cigarettes. Sensitive uses include child daycare facilities,
licensed childcare homes, youth-oriented facilities, churches, community assembly uses, parks, and public libraries.

The Supervisors will have a public hearing on what the City Council is voting on, the clean-up reorganization in South Lake Tahoe. It is slated for 10:30 a.m. and cannot start before that time. Should they adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 189-2024, it will transfer the General Fund base property tax revenue to the City upon completion of the annexation of 80 parcels within El Dorado County into the City of South Lake Tahoe service area.
