Man arrested at Twin Bridges on multiple charges, including driving a stolen vehicle

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol (CHP) and El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) were working on locating a vehicle listed on a "be on the lookout" report on November 6 when they spotted a car matching the description on US50 at Twin Bridges at approximately 11 a.m.

CHP Officer Nunes and EDSO Deputy Vernon conducted a vehicle stop on the suspected stolen car, a blue Honda CRV. The car was being driven by a male who told them he just purchased the car and also verbally gave them a name other than his real name.

After further investigation, the Honda was determined to be stolen, and the driver, 37-year-old George Meszaros of Clear Lake, Calif., had several warrants out from other jurisdictions.

Meszaros was arrested and is being held in the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe on a $410,000 bail hold on the following charges:
