SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe, along with co-sponsor the South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce, will honor four community members on Thursday, November 14, at 6 p.m. at Lake Tahoe Community College's Duke Theatre.
The four people have been chosen as Unsung Heroes:
Kayla Glanville - nominated by Brianna Vallejo
Rick Chilcott - nominated by Bob Harms
Ken Curtzweiler - nominated by Gary Casteel, Drew Murin, and David Borges
Over the past year, the South Lake Tahoe community has produced many volunteers who gave service to people who really needed it without being asked or reimbursed. They didn't do it because it was their job or to win any awards or recognition, but just because they felt it was right. They acted with their hearts. It may have been a professional like a police officer or firefighter who went above and beyond the call of duty or a private citizen who assisted someone who needed help getting to a doctor's appointment or just the store. In other words, a good samaritan who saw a fellow citizen with a need and stepped up to help.
The Chamber and the Kiwanis Club invite the public to the Awards Presentation to help honor these wonderful unsung heroes. There is no cost to attend.
