INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - The Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID) has announced that Trustee Phil Horan will be leaving his seat on December 16, 2019. His resignation is contingent on the closing of escrow on his home.
Horan and his wife Jan are moving out of the area and recently sold their home. He made the announcement at the IVGID board meeting on November 13.
“My wife and are in the process of selling our home and relocating out of the Incline Village community," said Trustee Horan. "Because our primary residence will no longer be within the boundaries that allow me to hold my elected position, sadly, I must resign my seat. I would like to thank my fellow Trustees for their selfless commitment and the IVGID staff for their steadfast dedication and hard work to the district. Most of all, I thank the voters of Incline Village and Crystal Bay that have put their confidence in me to lead this wonderful community for the past several years. They are what this job is all about.”
Horan was appointed by unanimous vote by the Board of Trustees in 2015 and re-elected by the voters of Incline Village and Crystal Bay in 2016. He and his wife have owned property in Incline Village since 1990 and have been full-time residents since 2001. A well respected, long-time resident and retired international businessman, Horan was an active participant and volunteer in the community, as well as served on several boards for Washoe County.
He had one more year left on his term as an elected Trustee. At their December 11 meeting, the IVGID Board of Trustees will outline the process to appoint a replacement trustee to finish the rest of Horan’s term.
