Five dancers from The Studio in 35th annual production of The Nutcracker Ballet

Five talented dancers from The Studio are set to shine on stage in the 35th annual production of The Nutcracker Ballet, presented by the Nevada Dance Company. These young performers will join pre-professional and professional dancers in the beloved holiday classic, bringing magic and joy to audiences of all ages.

The production, which runs from November 29-December 1 at the Bob Boldrick Theatre in Carson City, Nev., will feature a cast of dancers from across the Carson Valley, Carson City & Reno, performing in a variety of iconic roles, from the spirited party children to the enchanting snowflakes and flowers.

The five dancers from The Studio — Olive Guy (8), Mila Quijas (12), Wyatt Rohrbough (13), Emerie Smith (11), Evey Smith (12) — have been rehearsing in Minden, Nev. each Friday and Saturday since September in preparation for their roles, working closely with Nevada Dance Company’s Artistic Director Oliver Adams and Erica Chipp-Adams.

The 35-year-old production has longstanding connections to South Lake Tahoe and The Studio. Studio owner, Miss Ashley, began performing in this production of The Nutcracker Ballet at the age of 9 alongside other local dancers, including Miss Kelsi and Miss Nicole, both teachers at The Studio. Today, Miss Ashley serves as the production's stage manager and producer.

The Nutcracker Ballet, a cherished tradition during the holiday season, tells the story of a young girl named Clara who embarks on a magical journey through the Land of Sweets after receiving a Nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. With its stunning choreography, timeless Tchaikovsky score, and spectacular costumes, The Nutcracker has become a holiday favorite, capturing the hearts of families year after year.

Performances begin Friday, November 29 at 7 p.m. Additional shows on Saturday, November 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, December 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at https://buy.tututix.com/nevadadancecompany
