Heavenly unveils transportation plan for easy mountain access this season

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - With skiers and riders visiting the California side of Heavenly Mountain Resort unable to park on adjacent city streets this winter, the resort has unveiled its transportation plan for the 2023/24 season.

During an Open House the resort held on Thursday, the public was able to speak to staff and learn options for parking, as well as meet avalanche dogs and try out a new menu in the California Base Lodge.

The lodge had several informational boards around the room with the message, "Let the Resort Come to you."

Several different tools and options have been created for getting to the resort. These are outlined on the Heavenly transportation website, https://www.parkheavenly.com/. The information is also on their main website as well.

There will be free parking at Lake Tahoe Community College and Harveys Tahoe when there are large crowds at the resort (not daily). A shuttle will be provided from these two locations. Heavenly will post its social media account when these lots are open.

There will be 21 shuttles on three routes this winter.

The free Heavenly Shuttle California Route will be running continuously from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily with a shuttle every 15 minutes. It will run from the Stateline transit center to Ski Run Blvd. to the resort, down Pioneer Trail back to the transit center.

The free Heavenly Shuttle Lodging Route will run from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and stop at markers (see map). The shuttle travels from Hotel Axure, along US 50 to Ski Run Blvd. and up to the resort.

The free Heavenly Shuttle Kingsbury Grade Route runs daily from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It goes from the Stateline Transit Center to Boulder and Stagecoach lifts. The parking at those two lifts is also free though they fill up quickly.

Tahoe Transportation District will also be running free buses on its regular lines that give skiers and riders access to Heavenly shuttles.
