The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) is hosting its popular Giving Tuesday pet adoption once again, and this year the stars of the show are puppies Spooner, Donner, Aloha, Watson, and their mom, Tahoe, all named after local lakes. The entire "lake" family is available for adoption starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28.
Giving Tuesday is special because Tahoe and her pups will all find loving homes, while HSTT's adult dogs and cats will welcome many potential adopters that day, too. Additionally, every donation to HSTT that day will be matched DOLLAR-for-DOLLAR up to $100,000! Funds raised on Giving Tuesday allow HSTT to rescue hundreds of at-risk pets of every age, size, and breed annually. So donate that day to make TWICE the difference for all pets who need HSTT's help.
The highlighted dog family are long-haired miniature dachshunds. Tahoe, Aloha, and Donner are female. Watson and Spooner are male.
The adoption process will be first served on Tuesday, starting at 10 a.m. at the Truckee Animal Shelter upon approval of the Adoption Questionnaire. All pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and altered. The adoption fee for puppies (4 months and under) is $200. The adoption fee for adult dogs (5 months and older) is $150.00. The adoption questionnaire is available HERE.
While the Giving Tuesday pets are limited, there are chances to adopt puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats throughout the year.
For more information, email givingtuesday@hstt.org. Because there are only four Lake Puppies, we suggest anyone interested in adopting arrive early.
