Carson Valley Medical Center community benefit tops $560,000 in 2021

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Investing in the local community is all part of the plan for Carson Valley Medical Center (CVMC) and last year was no exception with $562,305 worth of services and sponsorships provided. Health and wellness services including health fairs, free or low-cost screenings, youth sports physicals, and support groups make up the majority of the community benefit number.

“We’re always looking for ways to help local families and our underserved populations,” said Shannon Albert, chief operating officer. “Providing free or low-cost services, like sports physicals and flu shots, allows families to save while receiving quality and professional care.”

Carson Valley Medical Center also sponsors more than a dozen local organizations including MEFIYI, Tahoe Youth and Family Services, Barton Foundation, Douglas-Carson High School Rodeo Club, Boys and Girls Club Western Nevada, Douglas Pop Warner and High School Football, Carson Valley Basketball Association, and Douglas County Sheriff's Office Association.

“CVMC is proud to support and sponsor the many local organizations who work to improve the health and wellness of our community,” Albert said.
