Kiwanis of Lake Tahoe holding 2nd annual Sock Drive

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe is holding its 2nd annual Sock Drive to help those in the South Lake Tahoe area. Their goal is 2,000 socks and they are over halfway there! The socks can be for kids, teens, men, or women.

The collected socks will go to Catalyst Community, Tahoe Youth and Family Services, Sierra Foster Families, Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Child Protective Services, Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless, and Live Violence Free. Some of the collected socks were already distributed to the South Tahoe Middle School, and Bijou and Sierra House Elementaries when the Kiwanians handed out free, new coats to children.

Kayla Smith and Rosalind Zellmer from Guild Mortgage are collaborating with the club to collect and distribute socks.

Socks can be dropped off at the El Dorado County Library in South Lake Tahoe, South Tahoe Public Utility District, South Tahoe Refuse, Catalyst Communities, and US Bank in South Lake Tahoe. The Kiwanis Club will be collecting them through December.
