SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - For eleven years, the South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge 1632 has supplied boxes of food or money for local families in need, and Christmas 2021 is no different. On Thursday, December 16, members of the lodge delivered 50 brightly decorated boxes, each packed full of canned goods, pasta, vegetables, potatoes, tortillas, and everything else needed to feed a family a big holiday meal. Each family also received a large spiral ham, which was purchased through generous donations from Moose and community members.
The recipients were selected by the Family Resource Center Director, Bill Martinez.
Moose member, Robbie Koth, solicited donations from members and the community and spent about $1,500 to purchase food. The food boxes were supplemented this year by Cub Scouts from the local Pack 592. The children went “scouting for food” and collected a considerable amount, despite the major snowstorm. In addition, the Scouts painted and decorated the boxes with colorful holiday themes. The Moose Lodge extends a big thank you to Cub Scouts Pack 592 and Genevieve Villemarie for their efforts.
