Weekly COVID-19 wrap-up for counties around Lake Tahoe

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - There have been 24 new cases of COVID-19 and one new death recorded since yesterday in El Dorado County. This brings the total of COVID-19 cases in the county to 17,037. In the Quad Counties, there were 16 deaths, 215 new cases this week. In Placer County, the average daily new cases are 45.86, and there were 5 new deaths recorded this week. In Washoe County, 113 daily new cases, 7 new deaths.

To date, 175 El Dorado County residents have died from COVID-19. There was one new death recorded today, a male 65+ from Greater Placerville. This count does not include deaths still under investigation.

There are 12 (+2) hospitalized with 5 (-2) in the ICU in El Dorado County. Barton Hospital has 6 of the hospitalized patients, Marshall Hospital has 6. Barton has 3 ICU patients, Marshall has 2.

Currently, the State's website says there are 2 available ICU beds in the county, 2 at Barton Health in South Lake Tahoe, 0 at Marshall in Placerville. Barton has said there are plenty of beds available even if the state's website doesn't show it.
