Kudos: Bread & Broth Monday Meal dinner sponsored by the Delorey Family

Hosting a Bread & Broth’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD) sponsorship is a great way to help members of the community who are in need. By donating $350, a sponsor helps Bread & Broth (B&B) cover the costs needed to serve a free full-course meal to any community member who comes to St. Theresa’s Grace Hall for a Monday Meal service held from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Additionally, an AAD sponsorship allows the hosting sponsor to participate in the meal service, making it a very personal experience. A sponsor can bring 3-5 AAD crew members to work alongside the B&B volunteers setting up the food ‘giveaway’ table, preparing the drink/dessert table, greeting and interfacing with the dinner guests while serving the meal, and helping with the meal breakdown/cleanup at the end of their 3-hour AAD community service shift.

Since 2011, businesses, organizations, churches, individuals, and families have been hosting B&B Monday Meals and enjoying the satisfaction of helping others meaningfully.

On Monday, December 9th, the Delorey Family hosted their first AAD sponsorship. According to Dan Delorey, “We were all thrilled to take part in the evening’s meal, but what was really impressive was the team of regular B&B volunteers that really made it all happen.”

Dan Delore and his wife, Deb, were joined by their children Kaylan and Seth, and family friend, Anthony Martinez. Their joy and enthusiasm in their role as the dinner’s host was obvious, and much appreciated by both the B&B volunteers and the 120 dinner guests they graciously served.

“Thank you to the entire Bread & Broth crew. The work you do for this community is incredible. Our family is blessed to be a part of it,” shared Kaylan. Adding, “We hope everyone in Tahoe can have a safe and happy holiday season!”
