Seasonal restrictions are now in place for over snow vehicles (OSV) in areas inside the Humboldt Toiyabe National Forest including Hope Valley and Red Lake.
Prohibitions are detailed on the attached maps and include bans on traveling on and off forest development roads and trails.

The U.S. Forest Service said the bans are in place to protect health, well-being and safety by providing a separate non-motorized vehicle area for winter recreation enthusiasts.
The ban restricts access by snowmobiles and other motorized vehicles designed to travel on top of the snow in the areas detailed in the two attached maps.
If a person has a permit authorizing the otherwise prohibited act they are exempt from the Forest Service Order. Also allowed are federal, state and local organized rescue or fire fighting force on official duty.
Violations of the order could lead to a $5,000 fine to an individual or $10,000 fine to a group. The bans are in place until April 30, 2020.
