The last week of 2023 may bring a gift for those wanting snow around Lake Tahoe and the Sierra

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - If you were dreaming of a white Christmas you may have to wait a little longer. A couple of disturbances may bring a few light showers to the region through Monday night, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Otherwise, dry conditions and a warming trend are on tap through Tuesday. A more active pattern settles in from Wednesday onward, with several rounds of rain and mountain snow possible into the New Year.

The first storm of the week arrives Wednesday afternoon; this storm will
be wetter than they have been, but fast-moving, and is expected to be out of the area by early Thursday morning. Snow levels will hover around 6000-6500 ft, with a 70% chance for 1" and a 20-30% chance for 4" of snowfall along Sierra passes.
