It’s been nearly a month since the suspicious disappearance of 17-year-old Hannah Thomas-Garner. Now community members are anxiously awaiting answers in the case — and are asking police to consider changing it to a criminal investigation.
Garner’s disappearance is not only affecting her family, but also her friends, classmates, and the entire Ashland community.
Sunday was the day about 50 volunteers in the community were supposed to do their first organized search for the teen, but winter weather forced them to cancel. Now they’re looking for other ways in the time being to prevent this investigation from going cold.
Ashland Police are still considering the case a runaway case. However, because of its classification, community members are afraid it’s not getting the attention it deserves.
Ashland residents said there are still several unanswered questions — like why was Hannah’s car abandoned and vandalized? Why was her SIM card removed and her phone left behind, and a month later, still why hasn’t anyone heard from her?
