A cold and unstable air mass heading to the Sierra may lead to widespread snow
showers with the heaviest snow currently expected to be on Tuesday, the day of the next El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting.
On Friday, county officials announced that the meeting may be postponed if the storm proves to be as big as forecasters are predicting. Total snowfall accumulation projections could change, but 1 to 2 feet in the Sierra are possible through Wednesday.
Even though the meeting is held in Placerville, hazardous road conditions are expected and safety is a concern.
In the interest of public safety, to ensure availability of county staff and access for public participation, if hazardous traveling conditions exist due to snowfall, the Board of Supervisors may postpone the Tuesday, January 3, 2017 regular meeting and the swearing in of the new and reelected Supervisors to Wednesday, January 4, 2017.
County staff will utilize every means available to communicate information as soon as possible in the event a postponement is deemed necessary. The swearing in ceremony start time would be at 9:00 a.m. no matter which day the meeting is held, followed by the regular meeting starting at 10:00 a.m.
