Tahoe Keys Marina sold to Suntex Marinas of Dallas

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Suntex Marinas Investor, LLC has completed a purchase of the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe. The Dallas, Texas-based company owns and operates marina properties across the country with three others in California - Lake Don Pedro Marina in LaGrange, Moccasin Point Marina in Jamestown, and Pleasure Cove Marina in Napa.

Suntex announced the sale on Christmas Eve.

"This acquisition gives Suntex an opportunity to manage and eventually redevelop Tahoe Keys Marina, the premier marina on Lake Tahoe, into a world-class trophy asset that all of the stakeholders in the South Lake Tahoe community deserve," said David Filler, Head of Investments, Suntex Marinas in a press release.

"Initially, Tahoe Keys Marina will benefit from the professionalism and care with which we manage all of our properties," said Michael Warntjes, Senior Vice President Operations, Suntex Marinas. "Looking ahead, we plan to reopen the restaurant, provide many of the amenities such as boat service and winter storage that were available in the past, clean up the facility's grounds and commercial buildings and replace the docks in order to deliver the quality of experience that the community and customers expect."

"Suntex Marinas is known for our experienced, enthusiastic marina managers and staff and for delivering superior guest experiences," is a statement on their website.

Messages left with Suntex for further comment have not been returned at this time.

The Tahoe Keys Marina is the only inland marina on Lake Tahoe with 270 wet slips and dry storage, a full-service boat launch equipped with a travel lift, forklift, jib crane, and traditional launch ramp. They also carry rental boats and charters.
