December 8, 2018 - 10:00am The Annual Winter Bazaar will be held on Saturday, December 8th, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event will be at the American Legion Post on Hwy 50, across from Meeks, and admission is free.

September 16, 2017 - 9:00am The Carson City Historical Society's second and last flea market (yard sale) of the summer will be on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come find that special item from one of the 12 vendors who will be offering antiques, collectibles, crafts, and jewelry.
The sale is in the Foreman-Roberts House Museum park located at 1207 N. Carson Street, Carson City, NV.
New rules for those attending American Century Golf in Lake Tahoe

American Century Golf Championship in South Lake Tahoe is always a fun place to be during their week-long tournament, but fans need to know of some new policies that will be strictly enforced in 2017.
The tournament takes place at Edgewood Tahoe July 11-16, 2017.
There is no bag check or camera check area as in the past, so if attempting to enter and items you are carrying are not allowed they will have to be returned to motel room, vehicles or disposed of.
No backpacks or large purses. All bags are subject to search.
No food. Small 12 oz. water bottle is ok.
Arrest made in Douglas County attempted residential burglary

A suspect was arrested two days after the Douglas County Sheriff's Office circulated the photo of a person of interest in an attempted residential burglary in Gardnerville.
On January 19 at 3:00 p.m., Joshua Gutierrez, 25, of Gardnerville was arrested at his place of business in Douglas County. During the arrest, a box of collectibles, coins and currency that didn't belong to the suspect was located in Gutierrez's vehicle.

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino opens in South Lake Tahoe

It was a huge project, remodeling an aging hotel and casino that hadn't seen glory days in decades. Many thought seven months wasn't going to be enough time to turn the old Horizon casino into a fresh and new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. All doubts were tossed aside Wednesday night as the epic rock and roll branded property opened up to large crowds, full bars and packed table games.

West slope pair arrested; drugs found, stolen property recovered

Detectives and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Detail served search warrants, including a storage container, at two different locations in Pollock Pines on March 21, said Lt. Tim Becker in a news release.
