South Lake Tahoe City Council candidates respond to #IRunWithMaud questions

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There will be two new members of the South Lake Tahoe City Council after the November 3 election. In the coming weeks the pubic will have chances to hear from the candidates both via zoom, in print and possibly in person. Below are eight of the ten candidates responses to questions asked by the local #IRunWithMaud group.

Groundbreaking Ceremony for First South Lake Tahoe Community Garden

The South Tahoe Family Resource Center, next to Bijou Community School, will be holding a ground breaking ceremony from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. for their new community garden.

The Family Resource Center (FRC) community garden will showcase a variety of permaculture techniques that help increase productivity and extend our short growing season. The grant will fund a permanent fence to protect the FRC garden as well as garden-related materials, seeds and soil.

South Lake Tahoe Neighborhood Service Team Meetings

Another opportunity to be a part of your community is to attend and participate in the City of South Lake Tahoe's Neighborhood Service Team (NST) project.

This team concept was created to improve and preserve neighborhood vitality. They do this by by encouraging public participation and facilitating the interaction between residents and their city government.

City staff hosts meetings at the Recreation and Swim Complex located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. The next one will be held on June 10.
