June 10, 2014 - 6:00pm
Another opportunity to be a part of your community is to attend and participate in the City of South Lake Tahoe's Neighborhood Service Team (NST) project.
This team concept was created to improve and preserve neighborhood vitality. They do this by by encouraging public participation and facilitating the interaction between residents and their city government.
City staff hosts meetings at the Recreation and Swim Complex located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. on the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. The next one will be held on June 10.
Residents are encouraged to address and resolve neighborhood issues and establish future goals, priorities, and projects for their neighborhoods. No matter which city neighborhood you're located in, you can participate.
The first NST project will be an Al Tahoe neighborhood clean up on June 14th. People will meet at Lakeview Commons at 9 a.m. Gloves and bags will be provided.
A list of possible ideas for your neighborhood include block parties, lending libraries, community gardens, crime watch, cook out, picnics, home tours and clean ups.
